People are becoming increasingly distrustful of advertising. Marketing is vital for our businesses and is always evolving. Possibly one of the strongest things you can do for your business, and the one you have most control of, is being the face of your business.
We should all be proud of our businesses, we put so much of ourselves into them. I have put together a few tips on how to be the face of your business, and hopefully give you a competitive advantage.
1. Write Your Story
What is your big WHY? Why did you start your business and what have you overcome to get it to where it is today? Have your story ready to share with others and let your passion shine through. This is an opportunity to get back in touch with your passion, and to show others why you have the best solutions to their problems.
2. Look Professional

What image are you portraying in the touch points of your business? How you show yourself on your website, social media, business card, work clothing etc are all noticed, either in a positive or negative light. Take a good look how you present and ask ‘would I trust and do business with myself’?
When you get your photos done pay that bit extra for professional shots, there is a huge difference to a quick selfie on your phone. A good photographer will get the right image for you.
If you are doing social media videos your phone can in most cases give an excellent visual result. Be sure to use an external mic, this can be a small lapel mic available quite cheaply online. Use a tripod to hold the phone if possible, you will get a better result.

3. Think Before You Respond
We all get feedback or comments occasionally that rattle us. Remember to stop and answer carefully, count to 10 if you need to. Being the face of your business, you can brand yourself as a thought leader and expert in your field. This is a wonderful opportunity, use it wisely.

4. Use Your story
Face to face networking is still a strong tool for business, this is also a wonderful opportunity to share your story. Your story can also greatly assist your brand on-line, both on your website as well as social media. Remember, people relate to people not businesses, this is a golden opportunity to relate to prospective clients.
Conclusion
I would love to hear your views on being the face of your business and how important you think it is. If you would like to discuss this or other topics of interest drop me a line or give me a call. I would love to buy you a coffee and share my story with.
