As we all know, being a business owner is and can be one of the most demanding jobs there is.
Let’s face it, we put our blood, sweat and tears into our businesses to see them succeed, right?
So, when do you get to stop?
When was the last time you stopped?
Had a break? Took some time out?
If you’re like most business owners I meet, that’s
a tough one to answer.
Time and time again we see business owners who work so tirelessly that they forget about themselves. But, with outsourcing a very quick and easy solution to give you the break you need, I’d like to give you an example of how you can give yourself a business break without losing any income.
One of our clients, whom we’ve been working with for nearly 2 years now, runs a local cleaning business. As you can imagine with the nature of the business, the work is quite demanding. She can’t remember the last time she took a break, and with her husband being from Scotland, he hadn’t been home in over 20 years!!
Over the course of the 2 years we’ve been assisting her with the day to day running of the business, we’ve gradually seen her business grow, taking on more and more clients, and going from 2 staff to 8 in a short time frame. This is fabulous for her, as all the hard work she’s put into her business over the past 8 years or more is paying off. Having Virtual Assistants like us in the background, means she can outsource all the tedious tasks to us that stop her from growing her business. We’re talking answering emails, phones, Facebook enquiries, getting invoices into the system, organising staff, paying wages and much more.
That being said, the need arose for that break! And a break they’ve had, 5 weeks back in Scotland. Now of course this did come with some hesitation about leaving the business to run completely in someone else’s hands. Over the course of 4 weeks prior to their departure, we regularly sat down to go over all the operations of the business, ensuring we had a full understanding of what needed to be done, when, how and by who.
So, whilst she and the family enjoy their family reunion and explore the sites of Scotland and beyond, we’ve been there every step of the way, continuing to run her business without the need for her to have a stress in the world.
It’s extremely important as a business owner to ensure that you take care of yourself and down tools. Your business will suffer without you looking after number one, YOU!
If you’re contemplating taking a break and want to ensure your business can still run and you’re effectively still earning and income, then consider outsourcing!
